Halloween 2011

This 2011 Halloween can only be described as: Wild. Tyler has been SUPER sick. Carson and I spent the day at the orthopedic getting his foot checked out, once again. And Ila Kate has been so ill tempered that she took two very well needed naps today. And sweet Caroline, she has wanted to be loved on all day, which normally I don't mind, but the last few days it seems that our family of five has been tiring trying to nurse everyone back to good health. Trick r' Treating for us, however, was such a good thing! A nice break! We went to a few homes in our neighborhood and the kids loved it! Carson was a champ this year and completely got the whole concept. Ila Kate just followed the lead and then our bff's came over with their sweet boy, Hudson and he was into every dog at every house, it was the cutest thing! I would give anything to have taken a picture of our neighborhood tonight, I didn't think about it at the time, our neighbors went ALL OUT. It was like a block party, everyone outside in lawn chair, all the houses were decorated to a tee. Seriously, something out of a movie. In fact, one house was even grilling out hamburgers and hot dogs for all the neighbors.
Through all the craziness in the past week, Tyler and I sure do realize how blessed we are as a family. It's been kind of nice to be forced to stay at home over the last few days and just be together. It has been an excuse to say no to some great things we missed out on, no doubt, but I wouldn't have traded this weekend of our little family just being together, sickness and all.

Now let me tell you about costumes. Carson picked out his spiderman costume this year. Once we got home and he ran around in it for some time, we realized we should have bought the kid size, not the toddler size. I picked out a dorothy costume for Ila Kate HOWEVER, once she saw how much fun Carson was having being Spiderman, she wanted to follow the lead and because of the size mishap, we now had TWO Spiderman costumes. So this year, we have TWO Spiderman's!
Happy Halloween!!!!
